The problem of providing doctors with protective equipment

The officials of the institution were informed by doctors from 5 medical and sanitary institutions both in the capital and in the districts about the insufficiency of the medical equipment (protective masks, coveralls) necessary for them to be protected against COVID-19. The doctors reported that they are examining the possibility of resigning in order not to be exposed to the danger of infecting themselves and their family members.

Reaction of the People’s Advocate:

On March 25, the People’s Advocate sent an approach on behalf of the President of the National Commission for Exceptional Situations requesting to identify additional funds for the proper equipment and the protection of doctors from contamination with COVID-19. Shortly after the distribution of the press release, there reacted the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, Social Protection and Family, who have ordered to verify the information.
