The People’s Advocate notified the members of the Commission for Exceptional Situations about the social problems faced by the inhabitants of the villages of Balceana and Sofia from Hincesti district, quarantined, and asked to identify solutions for the supply of the population of the two villages with products of strict necessity, medicines, as well as for organizing the social life of this locality.

Between March 23 and 27, the People’s Advocate was notified by the inhabitants of the villages of Balceana and Sofia from Hincesti district, who invoked several problems that they face during the period of quarantine of these localities (poor supply of medicines, products of first necessity, the impossibility to procure seeds for spring works; to pay the communal services; to procure and refill the gas cylinders for the preparation of dishes and others).

The People’s Advocate asked the members of the Commission for Exceptional Situations to identify the solutions and to develop a viable mechanism for organizing the supply of the inhabitants of the quarantined villages with products of strict necessity, medicines, etc., as well as for organizing the social life of these localities, so that the right to a decent living and other human rights are ensured. At the same time, the People’s Advocate requests the evaluation of the socio-economic situation of the inhabitants of other quarantined localities.
