The problems approached by the beneficiaries:

The employees of the People’s Advocate Office were notified by the bailiff about the seizure of the salary card during the pandemic. The person was explained that it is necessary to notify the bailiff about this circumstance, in order to remove the seizure. If this does not happen, the beneficiary was suggested to repeatedly call the People’s Advocate’s Office or the green line, for the participants in the execution procedure: covid19.unej@gmail.com

–        The officials of the Office were contacted by relatives of some detainees, who are worried that they could not deliver parcels with food in prisons during the state of emergency. I informed the beneficiaries that they can deliver parcels, but provided that they are packed and labeled from the trading units. Afterwards they are disinfected and transmitted to the detainees.

–         The husband of a detainee from the Rusca Prison asked whether his wife could be released prior to the sentence term, as she is aged, in the context of measures to combat COVID-19 in penitentiary institutions, as it happens in other countries. Officials of the People’s Advocate Office are preparing a request to the relevant ministry, in which it will be proposed to apply such measures, taking into account the practice of other states and the recommendations of international institutions.

–        A person who was treated in Stefan Voda hospital and was discharged due to the quarantine imposed as a result of contamination of several doctors with COVID-19 from the mentioned medical institution, complained that he/she needs permanent care of the doctors and that the treatment prescribed and the supervision of the family physician are not sufficient for his/her health. The officials of the Office are examining the opportunity to send a request to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, proposing to identify alternative mechanisms of treatment of patients in similar situations, such as their hospitalization in the medical-health institutions in the area, closer to the place of residence.
