PEOPLE’S ADVOCATE FOR CHILD’S RIGHT

 The People’s Advocate for Children’s Rights  requests information on respecting the rights of certain categories of children

In the context of monitoring the enforcement and respect of children’s rights, taking into account the measures taken by authorities, the People’s Advocate for children’s rights, Maia Banarescu requested the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection to provide comprehensive information on the undertaken measures for economic and social protection, and also regarding the right to work, in relation to the people who take care of their children, but have not been terminated from the working process and they cannot fulfill their duties, due to parental obligations and vice versa (for instance, medical leave, quarantine leave or another legal form provided for this category of employees).

The People’s Advocate for children’s rights requested the directors of prisons no. 7 Rusca, no. 16 Pruncul, no. 10 Goian, to provide information about the actions taken to ensure the safety and health of the children placed in the institutions they represent, including children’s rights of 0 – 3 years old, who are with their mothers; also information about the measures applied to ensure the right to education of children through ensuring the implementation of the Methodology regarding remote education (for the institutions in which there are children, which are to be included in the educational system); about the compensatory actions that have been taken within the they represent, in order to diminish the negative impact and the emotional stress, in the context of canceling the visits from the relatives; about the situation regarding the provision of food, hygiene products, medicines, especially regarding children of 0 – 3 years old.
