Providing support to socially vulnerable families with children:

The People’s Advocate for Children’s Rights was informed about the problems faced by low-income families who have minor children during the quarantine period.

Reaction of the Children’s Ombudsman:

The Child Ombudsman sent an approach on behalf of the Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection in which he requested to intervene for the urgent remedy of this situation taking into account the best interests of the child in all actions undertaken by the State. Maia Banarescu recommended to examine at the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations the subject of redistribution of the financial means for the benefit of families in financial straits, lacking financial means for the maintenance of the children.
